MANIFESTO:
We seek to reimagine Downtown Roanoke through the construction of a New School of Medicine on SITE 1. In order to do so, we must pierce the sky with an innovative, intelligent tower that gives the Roanoke community a new skyline and advanced public space.
We strive to separate pedestrian traffic from public transportation in order to create a more cohesive urban environment. Roanoke needs a landmark, a space other cities envy. By building upwards, we create an opportunity to give Roanoke a trophy structure surrounded by trophy space overflowing with activity. Said tower will also mark the intersection of a physical transportation axis and implied pedestrian axis based around nature and scenery.
Those two moves will allow for more walkable community space while giving Roanoke a landmark it can be proud of.
